The Alabama Division of the SCV has a project going for members to adopt a cemetery and take care of the veteran's graves. You are asked to visit the cemetery four times a year and in April place battle flags on those veterans resting place. Our Camp has several members who have adopted cemeteries but need more members to take part in this project. You must fill out an application for the Alabama Guardian Program and pay a $10 fee. You will receive a nice certificate and lapel pin after approval. There has to be photographs and a registration form for each veteran when you adopt a cemetery. You may contact me and I'll be happy to help you with your forms and application. There is a 25 veteran limit for each member who paticipates. This program is very important in that it allows the Alabama Division to compile accurate information on the location of these graves and helps the veteran's descendents find their graves.

    You may adopt cemeteries in any county located in Alabama.
